Sophie woke up around 6ish with her now usual cry out for one of us, so I went in and hugged her and put her back down. Turned off the bathroom light that Jessie had left on and found her hiding in the lounge room and told her to go back to bed.

Then about 10 minutes later Sophie cryed out again, this time with a very different and distressed cry, so Karla went to see her this time. Kara then called me in to the room as well as Sophie had been sick over herself and the bed. So we cleaned her up and changed her bed sheets, checked her temperature and asked her if she wanted to go back to bed, she said, “Yeah”. So we put her down again.

About 30 minutes later another cry like before and more vomit, so another round of cleaning and this time we brought her in to our bed. She was happy and found poking us amusing. This was until she went to cuddle Karla and spewed again. More cleaning, clothes, sniffy number 3 to the wash.

Jessie had decided that she was not getting the attention she deserved and decided to join in and advise us that breakfast was needed as she was “Starving”. So up we got and I made some porridge, with no milk for Sophie.

We were suppose to go to swiming lessions this morning but that wasn’t happening.

Sophie seemed happy enough but did look tired after breakfast, but both Sophie and Jessie needed a bath, so Jessie first then Sophie after her. Sophie ended up having a cuddle in bed with Karla after her bath and we had been giving her water and hydrolite as well. I had also jumped on the bed for a quick cuddle before putting Sophie back to bed.

After a little while I started carrying Sophie to her bed room and of course another lot of spewing, over me and all over her. This time we both heading in to Karla’s shower, as I was covered and so was Sophie. So a quick shower was in order and more clothes to be washed. (I may or may not have helped the spewage here as I may have squeshed her to much while carrying her to her room.)

Anyway, Karla and Jessie are off at Blocks to buy some dancing stuff and I am here with Sophie, so fare no more vomiting and she has been watching Tangled and now Hi5, which is her favourite music group.

Got a call from the local GP the other night at home at around 8pm, not a usually thing. Apparently the last of my blood tests had come back and I had come back with a positive for Whooping Cough.

I was already on the right type of drugs to help treat this anyway, but it was good to know why I had been coughing for the past number of weeks. Also means that everyone else inf the house also has to go on antibiotics as well just in case. Both Karla and I were immunised when Sophie had her firsts shots at 2 months.

So I’m home and on drugs until the end of the week.

You may have noticed that the site has been coming up and down or has been very slow over the past couple of days. Well I updated to Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS over the weekend, this sort of went smoothly but I’ve found a few issues along the way.

1. Apache goes very slow or stops responding altogether.

2. APC no longer works with Apache.

3. Postfix-Dovecot SMTP authentication no longer works.

The first one is a big problem as it brings the whole server down, so nothing works and you are required to hard boot the box to get back in. It appears to be a problem with the update from PHP 5.2.6 to 5.3.1 there are issues with the Gallery plugin that I use on the site. So after some investigation I have disabled that plugin for now, until I can find a solution to fix the issue.

The APC should work but again does not want to so I have moved back over to Memcache for OPC caching on Apache for now.

The Postfix problem is a real pain, I spent many hours getting this set up in the past and while receiving emails is working I’ll need to go back and redo the other outward configuration again. Unfortunately as I spent some much time getting just right I can’t remember all of the little things that I changed, but looking at these things now I do so with a much better understanding than when I first tried.

The Gallery is still there and working, but linking pictures back via the WPG2 plugin is not working.

My left eye was a little sore on Tuesday, but not to annoying, then by Wednesday night I was getting some blurred vision and with Karla telling me that I was going to the Doctors on Thursday morning to get it checked.

I really just thought I had some thing caught in it, but no I have to have conjuntivitis, yeah for me. So being contagious, I’ve been working from home for Thursday and today as well. Luckily no one else has caught it either.

We are still hoping to go to the Easter Show this weekend, but Karla still has her cough and Sophie has been a little congested as well. Jessie just powers along with nothing being able to stop her. I wonder if this is becuase she is never in the one spot long enough for bugs to get her.

If your on holidays hope you are having a great and safe time.

Well we’re all back at work now and the Easter break is over, it wasn’t really what we had in mind.

Sophie was sick from Thursday to pretty much Sunday, with being more herself on Sunday and Monday. She has decided now that she doesn’t like going to bed and wants to sit or stand in her bed crying out until someone comes and gets her. So we’ve had to just go back in at night and wrap her up and put her back down, doing this several times until she learns that she wont be brought out at night. Also with the change in Day Light Savings she has been waking up 5ish or earlier yah.

Karla also got quiet sick on Friday ~ Sunday, so she was out of action for most of the weekend, so no Birthday party, no Easter show on the Saturday or Sunday. I also got the bug on Saturday night / Sunday morning but luckily it didn’t last very long for me.

Miss Jessica was 100% ok during this time and hasn’t got sick, which is good, but meant she had all of her energy while everyone else was under the weather.

On Monday Jessie was invited over to the Stirling house hold for a play date with Sophie (Stirling) and the other girls from Daycare as Sophie (Sirling) is no longer there and missing her old friends. I stayed home with Sophie so we played in the lounge room and did stuff.

Then around 2pm I got a call from work as there were some problems, of course my laptop decided it no longer wanted to connect to work anymore and I would have to go in to the office to do anything. So Karla and Jessie had to come home and look after Sophie while I went in to work.

The end of a great weekend.

GLENDA KWEK

March 23, 2010 – 12:25PM

Sydney women are being warned to beware of a suspected serial breast grabber.

Police believe the man has indecently assaulted three women in Sydney’s north-west in a fortnight.

The first woman was grabbed by the man on Birmingham Street, Merrylands, about 7.20pm on March 11, police said. She screamed and he ran away.

On March 21, another woman told police she was indecently assaulted at Railway Terrace, Guildford about 5.30pm. The man also ran away when she screamed.

A third woman was assaulted in Guildford Road, Guildford, about 1pm yesterday.

In all three incidents, the man asked the women for directions before grabbing their breasts, Inspector Adam Phillips of Merrylands police said.

The women described the assailant as a thin man of Indian appearance, aged between 25 to 28, of average height, with black, short, unkempt hair, a wispy black beard and a large nose.

Inspector Phillips said the man wore “a polo-style collared shirt with dark-coloured stone-washed pants”.

Police will try to analyse CCTV footage from Guildford railway station, which is near where two of the assaults occurred.

Police want other women who might have been assaulted or anyone with information to phone Merrylands police on 9897 4899 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

This Friday was Jessie’s last visit to the Westmead Childrens Hospital for her check up on her finger. She was a good girl and was very excited to see the Doctor although she did keep refering to him as a Dentists.

Dr Lawson look at her finger along with her Shrek bandage on her little toe and also performed some dancing and explained that she liked to read books now as well. I also ask if he could look at her legs as Jessie has always walked around on tippie toes, he checked and said there was nothing wrong with her legs or feet and most likely just a habit she had.

Dr Lawson always enjoys a visit from Jessie as she gives him a good show and he was sad to say she was fine and that he would not need to see her anymore. Yeah great news so from Mothers Day 2009 to the 22nd of January 2010.

Done.

Jessie said she was a little hungry and thirsty so I said we could go down to the hospital cafe and get a drink and something to eat. So Jessie had the following…

Banana Up and Go

Ginger Bread Man

Strawberry Yoguart

Some of my baked beans

She was pretty much finished and was playing by going back and forth to one of the office windows, which had various drawings and toys in it and having a few baked beans in the process. I was cleaning up the table and starting to take the rubbish over to the bins when she was getting her last mouthful and she tripped over and banged her mouth on the chair next to us.

Big crys and a mouthful of blood…

I grabbed a pile of napkins out and started to wipe out her mouth and yes the blood just kept on coming. Thought it was best to go to emergency seeming they were just upstairs and get one of the nurses to have a quick look. I couldn’t really feel her teeth being loose but there was still some bleeding happening.

So close one injury file and lets open another one.

I’ll be brief now..

After going though the usual emergency room process (did I say usual, there should be nothing usual about it) we saw one of the dentists and the damage wasn’t to bad. She had cut the small piece of skin at the front top of your mouth / lip, (go on see if you can feel it with your tongue, I know your doing it) this was the cause of all of the blood. No bleeding of the gums so the teeth should be ok and none of them felt loose to the Dentist.

Only other thing that may happen is that she will get a bruise on the inside top lip of her mouth and a small chance that the teeth may darken. She may also not want to eat hard foods for a while.

So a good start to Friday.
