Easters been and gone and we want a do over
Well we’re all back at work now and the Easter break is over, it wasn’t really what we had in mind.
Sophie was sick from Thursday to pretty much Sunday, with being more herself on Sunday and Monday. She has decided now that she doesn’t like going to bed and wants to sit or stand in her bed crying out until someone comes and gets her. So we’ve had to just go back in at night and wrap her up and put her back down, doing this several times until she learns that she wont be brought out at night. Also with the change in Day Light Savings she has been waking up 5ish or earlier yah.
Karla also got quiet sick on Friday ~ Sunday, so she was out of action for most of the weekend, so no Birthday party, no Easter show on the Saturday or Sunday. I also got the bug on Saturday night / Sunday morning but luckily it didn’t last very long for me.
Miss Jessica was 100% ok during this time and hasn’t got sick, which is good, but meant she had all of her energy while everyone else was under the weather.
On Monday Jessie was invited over to the Stirling house hold for a play date with Sophie (Stirling) and the other girls from Daycare as Sophie (Sirling) is no longer there and missing her old friends. I stayed home with Sophie so we played in the lounge room and did stuff.
Then around 2pm I got a call from work as there were some problems, of course my laptop decided it no longer wanted to connect to work anymore and I would have to go in to the office to do anything. So Karla and Jessie had to come home and look after Sophie while I went in to work.
The end of a great weekend.
Happy 1st Birthday Sophile Lee Stoker
Sophie’s 1st Birthday tomorrow
So one whole year has passed us by. Sometimes it’s hard to imaging and other times it feels like it’s been a hundred years. If you been following on facebook you’ll know that Sophie has been sick over the past couple of days.
Last night just before bed she gave me a nice present of a spew shower, it was quite impressive and required me to shower to remove all of the vomit. So this morning I took her to the doctors for a check up, she’s been very quiet and mainly has just wanted to sleep. The doctor had a look and said yeap just a virus keep her quiet and plenty of fluids and nothing to oily to eat.
Also means that the big birthday party we had planned for her tomorrow is now off, so we have a nice big cake with her picture on it, plus a large number of Easter Eggs, which were going to be used for the Easter Egg hunt at the park. We had luckily not gone to get all of the other food yet so that wont go to waste.
We are just hoping now that it rains so we can get our money back for the shelter at the park.
Sophie still seems to have a little fever that comes and goes, so hopefully tomorrow with a good nights sleep and some more rest she will be back to her old self. (old ? she’s only just turning one.)
Are we all still alive
The short answer is yes.
We’ve been busy as most people are these days.
Our bathroom has been mostly finished, I still need to sand and paint the door trim and clean and paint the ceiling. There are also the towel rail and toilet roll holder to go up as well. We are using some suction cup ones to test where the best place for these to go is.
Sophie is doing well, she is saying more words each day and has her sometimes serious and not so serious conversations with those around her. Currently she likes to laugh and chuckle, it’s quite funny when she does it. You can laugh and she will laugh back at you and this can go on for sometime. She has still been going to her swimming lessons and likes the pool, but she’s not so happy in the new bath by herself, thanks to a little Miss Jessica who we think sprayed her in the face a couple of times. She is also pulling herself up on items, not walking yet but most likely not to far from it. Of course her 1st birthday is just around the corner and Karla is busy getting things ready for that.
Miss Jessica is doing anything and everything, I don’t think she is capable of sitting still or being quiet for more than 10 seconds. She fell over last Sunday on her way to swimming lessions and grazed her knees and one of her hands, so now we get constant “Look at my knee” or “Look at my hand”. She is very interested in reading and learning her letters and numbers, she can spell out her name now and I think she knows a few words here and there as well.
Karla is looking for work and has been applying for jobs online and calling agencies and companies when able to, when the girls are in day care or a sleep. She has also doing / almost finished the job placement course that her old work provided when she was made redundant and has found this to be useful in how she presents herself to the various places.
Me busy at work on stuff I can’t tell you about and busy at home with the 3 girls.
We were lucky enough to catch up with Sheelagh last Sunday after swimming as she was down visiting a friend not to far from where we live, it was good to catch up and have a chat. It also gave her a chance to see the two girls now and give Sophie someĀ hugs.
