Andrew and Karla's Place

Find out what has been happening with us

State of Origin 3 Tonight

Wonder how many people are still going to go tonight as Queensland has already one the series and it’s really cold and rainy as well. I’ll be home where it’s nice and warm, I wont say quiet as the girls are never quiet, until they pass out in bed.

Most likely will flick back and forth to see what is happening during the game.

All those still going hope you have a great night out.

It’s been a while

So it’s been a while. I’ve been home for just over a week with Whooping Cough as per my last update. Back at work now and just getting up to speed once again with the thousand projects and normal support work.

As normal everyone wants a piece and their things done first.

Seem much better now, not coughing all of the time and not so tired from being ill.

Our plans for the Brisbane trip are coming along, flights have been booked, car hire has been done and work seems to be still letting me go as well. It should be good, to catch up with friends and family. Jessie is getting more excited as the time gets closer as she will now have her own seat on the plane. Plus she will also hopefully get to see her Grand Dad who works with cranes. Every time she sees one she goes “My Grand Dad he works with cranes, He’s your Daddy.”. It will also be the first time everyone expect for Mum says Sophie, she’s much bigger now and is able to walk around in a fashion. Plus we also get to meet Mark and Tasha’s latest addition to their family Charlie.

We’ll be there for Karla’s, Jim’s and Nanna’s birthday this year, hopefully I’ll be able to take Karla out for Diner or something for hers.

Guess who’s got Whooping Cough

Got a call from the local GP the other night at home at around 8pm, not a usually thing. Apparently the last of my blood tests had come back and I had come back with a positive for Whooping Cough.

I was already on the right type of drugs to help treat this anyway, but it was good to know why I had been coughing for the past number of weeks. Also means that everyone else inf the house also has to go on antibiotics as well just in case. Both Karla and I were immunised when Sophie had her firsts shots at 2 months.

So I’m home and on drugs until the end of the week.

Getting ready for the long weekend

What a week, half woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday morning and no need to jump out of bed at 6 to start the day. This little dream didn’t last long though.

We’ve had Jessie and Sophie sick this week, both Jessie and Sophie were home on Wednesday and on Thursday Jessie was home, so Karla and I did half days with Jessie getting a train ride in to the city to see her Mum’s building and then a ride back home with Dad.

She was so tired that she only wanted to go to sleep in the back of the car and didn’t want her lunch until waking up after a 3 hour sleep.

She really enjoyed the train both in and out and looked very cute in her black coat and beanie.

Later on we went to collect Sophie from day care and Karla got home later after working back trying to get some order in to her work.

Not sure what is planned for this weekend so far, Saturday is freeish I think, Sunday will have swimming if everyone is well enough and Monday who knows.

If your out and about have a great one and remember to stay safe on the roads.

BP Oil Spill Live Video Feed

This is a live video feed from the ocean floor.

You know your off to a good start when….

You get a knock on the bathroom door at 6.15am while in the shower and a little voice saying, “Daddy, I wet myself. It was an accident.”

So the week starts, beside the drenching rain outside.

I had a good Dad response of course, “Go and see your mother.”

Soon Mum was back advising me Jessie was waiting to get in to the shower and Sophie decided it was a good idea to start screaming out to let us know that she was awake as well.

So had a shared shower this morning with Missy using her Mums shower cap, she thought this was funny.

So while we were on schedule first off this soon was no longer the case. Besides cleaning child and doing a quick load of sheets, thank God for mattress protectors.

While dropping Karla at the station we noticed that there were several Police cars and then a few ambulances near the station after dropping her off. Turned out that someone decided today was a good day to take on a train. This also stopped one of the main lines to the city so Karla had to wait for several trains until she was able to get on to one. Then they had to go past where the poor person was as well. She’s a little upset by the experience. (Fatal incident causes long train delays)

She called me several times and said it was best to either go to Granville and try and get a train from as trains from Parramatta weren’t getting through. So I decided to go to Parramatta to work there for the day and get the girls in the afternoon. Of course life is not that simple is it. So checking the some 400+ emails from the few days I didn’t check them from home, I find that I need to go in to the city for a meeting at 2.30pm to 4pm. One that I can’t get out off. So l’ll be going in do the training course / meeting then leaving at 4.15ish to come back and grab the girls from daycare.

Of course I also left my network token on the desk at home so I can’t work while on the train today either. Oh well I’ll just have to read something or listen to some music on the way in and out.

Hope your week has started better than ours.

Yeap I should also be working as well…
