Andrew and Karla's Place

OCAU or overclockers.com.au has been down for the past 3 days and hopefully will be back up soon or I’ll not have anywhere to buy my computer stuff from.

The site was hacked a few days or around a week ago and now, there has been some sort of major hardware failure, but news has been fairly scarce on the issue.

OCAU is largest hardware site in Australia and possibly the world, with a very large user base, with large amounts of useful information now not available to anyone. Because someone thought it was cool to bring the site down.

I hope Agg and his crew are able to get OCAU up and running again, for everyone. Just realised I’ve been a member there for must be 10 years now with pretty much daily visits if not many times a day.

Jessie had her swimming accessment on Sunday and managed to swim 10+ meters on her own and moved up to the next level for next session. She made us both very proud and shows she can listen if she wants to.

Next week will be interesting as the V8 Super Cars are on at Homebush so not sure how we are going to go getting in to swimming on that day.

We also had two birthday parties on Saturday, which we fun for the girls, even though the temp was around 38c.

Day 4.

Not much happening today as it is raining so mainly around the unit.

We did go out to the shops to get some new headphones for Jessie to use in the car and grab some lunch and wine for diner.

Day 3. (Sunday)

Another late start to the day more sleep problems.

We finally made it out to the beach in the afternoon as the weather has been crazy hot, but nice blue skies.

We went to the rock pool that is near the appartments and Karla and Jessie went for a walk along the beach to collect shells and stand in the surf, while I stayed with Sophie in the rock pool. The water was really cold….

After that we came back for a swim in the pool and a bathes and showers.

Sophie loved sitting with Karla in the sand and playing in the water, she was very tired at the end of it though.

Jessie had scrambled eggs and toast for diner while we were going to have fish and chips. But when I called to order they had just shut and so had every other place I called as well. I did managed to get some thai food but that is another story.

I didn’t manage to get Karla her bottles of wine though.

The food was pretty.

No Zombie movies tonight.

Day 2.

Well Jessie being Jessie we didn’t do too much today as Jessie wouldn’t have her day time sleep.

We went for a walk down the main street of Forster around 2.30ish to look for some lunch, but found most places were shut by now. We also noticed that most of the little shops we went to years ago had shut and not replaced with anything new, seems strange as most people say they like coming to Forster but it seems very dead and the businesses are closing.

We finally found a Hogs Breath but they were closed as well. So Subway was the order of the day, which Jessie moaned about for ages.

After that we got in the car for a drive and in a few minutes Jessie was a sleep. (See you should have your daytime sleep as she missed the beach)

Karla went in to Wollies to grab some groceries as I stayed in the car with the girls who were both a sleep now.

We came home and Karla and Jessie both went for a swim in the heated pool, while I looked after Sophie (a sleep) and made diner.

Forgot to mention that I also found the car in the morning and some ars#hole had used texter over the bonnet of the car and scratched it in the process. Just great!

Well today is the first day of our holiday to Forster, where we are staying at the Sevan Appartments.

I was checking the car before the trip on Thursday morning and while doing the tyre pressures I found that our front passanger side tyre was low and after stopping at work to pick up some ebay purchases for Karla. I saw that we had another nail stuck in the front tyre, this one being the second one in that tyre and the third one overall. So I had to spend an hour or so getting another plug put in the tyre. Not how I had planned to spend the morning before going away.

So tyre fixed and everything else ok with the car, I dropped the cats off at the vets for boarding on Friday morning and we left the house around miday.

We stopped around Newcastle for some lunch and I kepted on getting some calls that I had trouble receiving, but I finally managed to call them back and it was the vets. It turns out the poor Sammy has mouth cancer and another mouth infection. We knew he had been off his food and had lost a little bit of weight and thought that maybe he might have had a mouth infection but not cancer.

They are giving him some drugs to clear up the mouth infection and some pain killers so he is comfortable but with out kemo he will only last a month or two. From what the vet has said it appears the cancer has spread quite a lot, so we will have to see what the story is when we get back.

Anyway a good start to our holiday, no one was very happy.

We arrived in Forster around 6.30pm and the appartment is really nice and in a great spot.

Food and bed time for the little ones.
