Find out what has been happening with us

Ubuntu 9.10 has been released.

The latest release of Ubuntu 9.10 has been released to the world. The offical release date was yesterday, well the 29th of October 2009. With us being in Australia we seem to get these a day later due to time zones.

You can download the latest versions from the Ubuntu download pages.

I’ll be looking at an update once I’m sure that I wont have any lost data or other issues.

Dishwasher in and working

Finally have the new dishwasher in and working after a second trip to Bunnings to replace the broken new waste pipe.

It was in and used on Sunday, but we had some problems with the power cutting out and one of the breaker staying off on that circut. So last night I turned it back on and ran a load through, now problems this time.

The other night there were also storms so I think our power went out all over the house for a few minutes, then the other circuts came back on when the power come on, but this circut didn’t as the breaker had switched.

We have 3 phase for the aircon, so depending on what happens some circuts / phases as still working.

Anyway nice to have a dishwasher again, besides myself.

Sophie's 1st Swimming lesson today

Sophie had her first swimming lesson today and really didn’t seem phased at all by it. Karla has a picture on her phone so I’ll put that up once I get the chance.

Sophie normally has a shower as we don’t have a bath so, we weren’t too sure how she was going to go in the big pool.

Jessie also had her lessons as well and afterwards joined Sophie and I in the pool. Both were rather happy having each other to play with in the water.

But yes now both of us must go each Sunday as one has to be in the pool with Sophie and the other with Jessie for her lesson.

Put down, turn around and gone.

Finally replaced the old broken dishwasher this afternoon with the new one. I placed the old one outside on the footpath and it was no longer than 5 maybe 10 minutes and a truck had stopped and two guys were putting it on the back.

Now hopefully this will happen with the broken oven as well, which has to go.

Got the new dishwasher in and halfway through I thought it was best to replace the old extension waste water hos, with a quick trip to Bunny’s. (Jessie’s name for Bunnings)

Got everything in and before puting the dishwasher in it’s new home did the leak test and of course the new hose has a leak in it 5mm from the end that connects to the sink drain. So out it has to come and be replaced tomorrow with another trip down the road. :-|

Atleast the new one is pretty much in and I’m sure I had to do this last time as well.

Gallery has been fixed and restored.

I’ve fixed the gallery up now, had to redo the database manually.

There is a back up option built in to Gallery2 which I do use after doing large updates. But the restore option does not work. Sort of pointless having a backup which is not a stand sql dump if your own utility wont restore it.

So I’ll be looking at doing some standard backups in the future.

I’ve added all of the users back in with the same passwords and access that were there before.
