Joined Microsoft TechNet today

Found and offer that was to hard to resist especially with some tasty new releases coming out this year from MS. I know this seems a little contraditory to my last post about Windows7, but hey a bargain is a bargain.

TechNet is for IT professionals or anyone really to gain access to most all of MicroSofts current and beta software for evaluation purposes. The software is full version and not time limited. So now if I want to play around with (oops I mean learn) Windows Server 2008, or Exchange Server, Windows7. I can just download it from MS and install it.

The software is not meant to be used in a production environment if you want to do that then you need to purchase the software as per normal from them.

What it does mean I can install and test Windows7 Ultimate on my home test workstation, laptop etc., to see how it goes. I might need to test it for several years on those machines but that’s ok.

Should mean access to the new Windows Home Server V2 when it’s released this year as well. Might also look at setting up an Exchange Server to finally test getting our emails in sync across several machines.

Not to sure but I might be able to claim the subscription on tax as well seeming I am a developer and this will help with various work projects to.
