May not be exciting to everyone and I’m not so sure about myself seeming that I paid for the Ultimate version of Vista, which was suppose to have extra features and content provided by Microsoft which never actually appeared.

But anyway Windows7 will be released to the public on the 22nd of October 2009, pricing is also suppose to be more expensive than Vista and this hasn’t been released yet.

I’ve never had the issues with Vista that most people complain about and I am using the 64bit version, sure some drivers had to be waited for but on the whole Vista has been pretty good and better than XP. I’m not a huge gamer so a few less frames in games hasn’t been a problem.

I have played around with Windows7 and it does seem quicker and does use less memory so people with older machines will find it runs better than Vista. My own hardware is still fairly current, but is now one generation behind the latest hardware.

Will I be lining up to get a copy straight away I don’t think so, I’ve even taken the RC off my main machine as it will have to be blown away when the RTM version is ok and I can’t be bothered getting to comfortable with an install just to have to remove it.

I’ll see what the pricing is and what the upgrade costs before making the plunge, also I will need WAF before making the purchase as well. (Wife Approval Factor)

Now I just need to get in to the beta testing group for Windows Home Server Version 2.
