Andrew and Karla's Place

The Good Grandpa:

A woman is in a grocery store and happens upon a grandpa and his poorly
behaving 3 year-old grandson at every turn.  It’s obvious Gramps has his
hands full with the kid screaming for candy in the candy aisle, cookies in
the cookie aisle; same for fruit, cereal and soda. M eanwhile, Gramps is
working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, ‘Easy, Albert, we
won’t be long — easy, boy.’

Another outburst, and she hears Gramps calmly say, ‘It’s okay, Albert, just
a couple more minutes and we’ll be outta here — hang in there.’

At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and
Gramps again in a controlled voice is saying, ‘Albert, Albert, relax buddy,
don’t get upset. We’ll be home in five minutes; stay cool, Albert.’

Very impressed, the woman goes outside where Gramps is loading his groceries
and the boy into the car.  ‘You know, sir, it’s none of my business, but you
were amazing in there.  I don’t know how you did it.  That whole time, you
kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just
calmly kept saying things would be okay.  Albert is very lucky to have you
for his grandpa.’

‘Thanks, lady,’ said Gramps, ‘But I’m Albert — the little bastard’s name is
Johnny.’

Still no major action on the baby front, still just waiting for No.2 to come along. Next appointment is on Monday the 23rd and if nothing is happening then a date will be picked for Karla to go to hospital.

My guess is it will be early in the week so either Tuesday or Wednesday.

I can’t believe how many things Jessie can find to do other than eat her breakfast that’s right in front of her.

I don’t want that spoon, I want a shiny one.

I want my horsy, I’m counting the saltana’s in the bowl.

I don’t want that one. (She doesn’t like the look of one of the flakes)

Do I smell? Do you smell?

Well officially Karla’s due date is today being the 14th of March, so pretty much anytime now we could be running off to the hospital.

Things are mainly ready around the house, Jessie is in her new room, the baby room is sort of ready. Just have to move things out of the cot for No.2 to have some where to sleep and put clothes away in her draws.

We have Jessies new car seat and the old car seat inserts have been cleaned. I’ll get the seat changed around while Karla is in hospital along with getting the new seat fitted as well forJessie.

Karla has bags packed for the hospital and we also have another bag for Jessie as well in case she has to go to someone elses place, while we are at the hospital.

I should really get a bag set up for myself as well, you know the important things like a PSP some games a few movies, a mag or two and some snacks.

In Jessie’s last swimming leason she was assessed and received a nice pink card advising she was ready for the next level at swimming. Her instructor did tell us a few weeks ago that she was ready to move on as she is doing everything needed for the next level. We are trying to get Carol again for next term as she seems to be good with the kids and Jessie has learnt more with her than with some of the other teachers there.
