Andrew and Karla's Place

Yes an enjoyable weekend of IKEAing, I wonder if there is such a word now. We have the new wardrobe, draws, some storage units, book shelf thing and a non IKEA bed to assemble in Jessies new room.

I’ll have to try and do some while Jessie is sleeping otherwise she will be doing her best to help put things together and the wardrobe is pretty heavy and I don’t want her to get hurt before getting in to her room. (really don’t want her to get hurt at any stage)

Karla is getting bigger and bigger, we have the ultrasound on Tuesday, which will be at around the 38 week mark so not long now. She is also going the movies on Saturday with one of the other Mums, not sure of the movie some chick flick I’ve been told.

Jessie and I will be at home doing something exciting I’m sure.

Yes today Jessie’s room is now purple and boy is it purple. Karla’s Dad has finished the first coat of paint today and is coming back tomorrow to do the second coat.

The room looks good and once we have Jessie’s new white furniture in there the purple will calm down I guess. Hey Jessie likes it and that’s the main thing.

So once the paint has settled I can start doing the Ikea thing and get all her furniture built in the room and in place. So come Sunday / Monday she should finely be in.

Well Karla’s due date is getting closer and closer now, with it being only about 30 days away. We’ve been having fun with the house and a few things going wrong over the past couple of weeks.

One being the air con dying on us, which was just fixed the other day after having to go through 40+c days using a rented portable unit.

The other being the oven glass door exploding last weekend, so no oven in the kitchen at the moment, so we are looking for a new one now.

With the extreme heat it’s slowed down some of our progress in clearing out the end room and getting it ready for Jessie to move in to, as her room will be the baby’s room when she comes.

Karla’s Dad is coming up tomorrow to start painting the room purple for Jessie, so tonight I will have to get the last of the items out of the room and start cleaning the walls so all is ready for him tomorrow.

So another busy weekend coming up, but hopefully Jessie my be in her new room by the end of next week at the latest. If painting can be done and finished by Monday / Tuesday. I can start building the furniture and getting the room ready for her to move in.
