Andrew and Karla's Place

Find out what has been happening with us

I want one of these!!

Saw this interesting article about small sized reactors that will be available in the next 5 years or so.

I don’t think Karla will really let me have one though.

New Hyperion NuClear reactor

New Hyperion NuClear reactor

Hyperion, Toshiba, others, race to produce “personal” nuclear power.

Using technology licensed from the U.S. government, an Arizona-based company is planning to bring a new generation of miniature nuclear reactors to market. The Hyperion Hydride Reactor is not much larger than a hot tub, is totally sealed and self-operating, has no moving parts and, beyond refueling, requires no maintenance of any sort. The reactor will output 27MW, enough to power a community of 20,000 homes, says Hyperion Energy, makers of the new reactor. The first models will roll off the assembly line in five years.

Wait where did those pants go?

Looks like we may have to tie Jessie’s clothes on.

Yesterday when going to pick her up from daycare I was advised our daughter has developed a new skill today. Apparently she likes to go in to one of the play houses and then remove her shoes and socks, (nothing new there) she then removes her pants and nappy.

Then she comes running out shouting and waving her hands in the air.

This is not really a skill we wish her to improve upon or continue really, but it must look funny when she comes running out. We have been doing potty training and she is keen to help by removing her pants and nappy when it’s time to go, so we guess this is where it is coming from.

Or we have the next aussie streaker in the making, we’ll just have to make sure we keep an eye on her at sporting events in the future.

I don't like that…

We all went along to Karla’s Obstrition appointment yesterday afternoon for her normal check up, which everything was fine at.
Jessie also got a chance to hear her sisters heart beat for the very first time. In typical Jessie fashion after listening for a few moments and with a serious look on her face, she decided that she “Didn’t like that”, that being the noise of the sisters heart beat.
It made the Dr. laugh and she said “Well wait until she comes out. You’ll definitely wont like that.”

Jessie now refers to her sister with the comment “Boom, Boom” when talking about her.

Holloween Disco Night Shots

Jessie’s day care centre had their annual Holloween Disco last Friday night. Jessie went along as a witch this year and looked very cute playing with her friends. Christian also came along from Mothers group as Superman.

There are some photos below of everyone having some fun.

Site update to WordPress 2.7 beta1

Just in case you find any strange issues with the site, the other day I update to the latest release of WordPress which is 2.7 beta1. Now I know that this is a beta and not a full release version, but our site is not very traffic heavy and I do have a back up if needed.

The final release is coming out some time in the next few weeks.
